| Comment on this model.
The JCB 535-140 HI-VIZ is a full size telescopic handler. It has an operating weight of nearly 11 tonnes, and a maximum lift capacity of 3.5 tonnes, and a maximum lift height of nearly 14m.
Packaging
The JCB branded box encloses two trays which hold the model.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.
There is no information provided about the real machine or the model, and no assembly is required to display it.
Detail
The transmission to both axles is modelled in plastic, and the axles are metal. The wheels are metal and have good quality rubber rough terrain tyres.
At the front the simple stabilisers are replicated in metal.
The cab is detailed with the control console detailed with a silver finish. The lights and mirrors are plastic, and there is a small aerial on the roof.
At the rear there are wheel chocks and a towing hitch which are not useable. The lights are painted and the graphics are sharp.
The telescopic boom has metal sections and the main external ram has a plastic jacket with some hydraulic pipe detailing.
The bucket is a metal casting, and metal forks are provided as an option.
Features
The wheels roll well and both axles steer with a moderate range of movement.
The stabilisers can be raised and lowered and will hold the front wheels off the ground.
At the rear the light clusters can be rotated from a vertical to horizontal position.
The boom angle can be set with the ram being stiff enough to hold any pose. The telescopic sections open smoothly with enough friction to maintain poses.
The front carriage tilts using a small hydraulic ram.
The bucket is removable and can be replaced by forks mounted on a pin. However the pin does not hold its position on the carriage well and is easily dislodged.
Quality
This is a high quality model with a high metal content.
The paint and graphics are very good.
Price
It is priced to reflect the quality of the model.
Overall
This is another high quality model for JCB by NZG. It performs well and can be posed realistically. The attachment pin for the forks is not the best, but in practice it can be set for display purposes.
Footnotes
The model was announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2014.
